Round 1 - Hometown Tour
Started out with the family in shanghai, ate live drunken shirmp, live sashimi lobster, and other assorted weird dishes i'm not proud of.
went to visit grandpa and relatives in Changsa with mom and aunt, saw the karsts of Zhangjiajie, hiked up a huge ridiculous mountains, and ate ridiculously spicy food, got some diaherria
Left on my own to ZhouShan archipelago where my grandma was from, met distant relatives and climbed more mountains. tried to pick a fight with mother nature aka a mountain and lost. got severely cut all over my body. Saw some temples, ate some fish placenta, got some worse diaherria.
Round 2 - Samiel Mang's Adventures
Hit up Hangzhou's West Lake for a day and then met up with DWY21 in Chendu, Sichuan Province.
Saw the JiuZhaiGuo and HuangLong nature reserves. Got fed lard, eggplant, and cucumbers for 4 days straight, lived in some nasty, nasty hotels, and made friends with a eccentric old man who threw a metal congee can into the beautiful and pristine, ultra clear waters of Swan Lake. I showered in natural waterfalls, drank from streams, and rubbed a innumberable amount of objects all over my face and body to piss off the tour guide who kept selling us things.
Saw giant pandas, baby pandas, and racoons that China also calls pandas.
Went to Lijiang, basically to get massages everyday from a greedy, creepy man, and a lady with a blood stained shirt. Almost got into altercations with the guesthouse owner, along with other cheats and scammers. Stayed in the old city, a well-preserved walled ancient city within the center of the new city. Rode horses and defied the leader by galloping, jumping streams, and eventually falling off.
Took an overnight bus - worst experience of my life.
Rode a 22hour train to Guilin, saw more karst mountains, met some more scammers, who later became our friends and gave us a watermellon. Rode a boad down the Li River to Yangshuo, ate beer fish, dog meat, and horse meat. rode bikes in the rice paddies, rode bamboo rafts and saw commerant fishing, everyone got as dark as me from the sun. sick
Traveled by train, bus, ferry boat, bus, another bus, and taxi to hainan island, sanya beach, from where this is written, swam in the south china sea (i think?), got scrapes all over my body from waves crashing me into sharp shells and making a game of it, fired an AK-47, and got scammed twice eating seafood. Ate starfish, blowfish, chicken hearts and rabbits.
Round 3 starts tommorrow in Beijing Children's home... until next time,
